The story of MAURO PETTI - Financial Advisor | Sole Trader

I'm Mauro Petti, a financial advisor. I work as a sole trader and partner with FINECOBANK as my reference bank. For years I put off an important decision: selling off part of my business to open myself up to new opportunities. I had the ideas... but I never actually took action.

In March I joined Private Community, in the IGNIS Community. I didn't come straight from a similar setting: ten years ago I'd been part of a networking chapter, then I left it, and since then my path had stayed very much a solo one. That's exactly why I now experience Community as something free, genuine, and not weighed down by the past.

The first thing that struck me when I joined IGNIS was the positive energy: not surface-level enthusiasm, but a real strength, made up of entrepreneurs talking about actual results - personal, professional and financial. That atmosphere gave me a new clarity. After about a month and a half, I stopped weighing things up and started acting: I decided to sell off part of my business. From April to October I carried the project forward, and on 21 October I closed it, meeting the deadline I'd set myself.

Alongside that, a change I hadn't foreseen came about: the team. At first I saw it as something temporary, tied only to the transition. But talking with other members made me reconsider everything. Seeing the results achieved by people already working as a team showed me that a team isn't a burden, but a lever. So what was meant to be provisional became a permanent project: I'll be leading a group made up of myself, a coordinator and two juniors, with whom I'll gradually build up the part of the business I sold.

For me this was a profound turning point, because I come from a long, very individual professional history, built on direct one-to-one relationships. In Community, instead, I discovered the value of working together consistently: not just in emergencies, but as part of everyday work. I also saw the enthusiasm of the people I'll be working with, who had been through similar transitions in the past without ever having the chance to join a stable team. This new outlook motivated them, and it motivated me too.

I used to think my situation was too particular for answers to come from outside myself. IGNIS proved the opposite: every story is unique, but many of the underlying issues are similar. The difference is that we didn't stop at describing the problems - we worked on the solutions. Some members gave me ways of looking at things that let me make real "leaps" on issues I'd kept putting off on my own.

The Mindset Booster was another central point. Doing it together with the others, right from the start, is what created a deep alignment within the Community. Mindset can't be explained: it has to be lived. It's a path everyone interprets through their own story, but going through it together builds the common ground everything else rests on. I noticed this by watching people who joined later and did it after the fact: until they'd been through that step, a piece was always missing.

In this journey, Combine®, the artificial intelligence we use in Community, also played an important role. I've found it surprisingly effective because it doesn't give generic answers: knowing my Mission and my Vision, it gives back a take I recognise as my own. It helps me above all with managing the team and the organisation. Sometimes it puts into order thoughts I'd have had anyway, only more clearly and in much less time. I believe AI needs to be used well, but it does need to be used: those who don't risk falling behind. At the same time, I know the human side remains irreplaceable, and I see that in the nuances and the feedback I get from other Community members.

IGNIS's strength also lies in the continuity of working together. We meet once a month in person and once a week remotely, to track our micro-progress. Beyond that, I've often talked things through with some members outside official meetings too, whenever I needed specific support. I've never once heard "I can't" - people have always been fully available. As the Community's secretary, I get to see up close just how much members share with each other: whoever's further ahead shares without hesitation. Before joining, I'd have imagined it differently; instead, I was pleasantly proven wrong.

Looking at the journey in perspective, the timeline is clear:

1.5 months to decide to take the step;

6 months to complete the first part of the project (sale closed on 21 October);

early December: first meeting with the new team;

January: the new organisation becomes operational;

March → next October: the journey to acquire the new branch of the business.

During these months I'm not just working on financial goals, but on qualitative, personal and professional ones too. I believe the numbers are a consequence: if you focus on quality, on the few actions that really matter, done consistently and continuously, the rest follows. The real difference today is that I don't just think about what I'd like: I link my goals to real actions, with dates, responsibilities, and a setting that pushes me not to stop at theory.

If I had to sum up these seven months, I can say it clearly: before, I had the idea of change, but not the conviction to put it into practice. Today, thanks to Community, the Mindset path, ongoing dialogue with others, and the conscious use of Combine®, that change has become real, concrete and in motion.

It didn't take forever. For me, seven months were enough. And the right Community.
