My name is Massimiliano Palermino and I'm co-founder of MC Energy. I set up this company together with my business partner, who's like a brother to me. We've worked together for fifteen years, but our bond began even before we had anything to build: I had no job, I already had a daughter, and he was much younger, Romanian. But there was something about him that struck me straight away. I told him: "Let's go for it. Let's give it a try." And that's how our business was born.
The company works well today, every year we hit the targets we set ourselves. But inside I felt there was one more leap to make, in terms of personal growth and alignment. When we were invited to attend a Community session, I was sceptical. I thought it was just another one of those business networks – which I do respect, but which take a different approach. Then I understood that Private is completely different: here the work starts with the person, then moves to the entrepreneur.
For us it was immediately clear that this would be a moment of truth. It could have turned out that, despite all the years, my partner and I were no longer compatible. Or, as actually happened, we could rediscover a new balance. Today, those four hours a month we take on a Wednesday in Community are sacred. It's our time, it's breathing space, it's something I protect because it does me good.
And that's not all: the weekly Labs are a further practical tool that help you unblock obstacles, untangle knots, and revisit decisions – in real time.
A continuous, practical push that stays with you between one monthly meeting and the next.
One of the tools that's truly changed the way I live my role is Combine. I use it in the company, of course, but I've brought it into family life too. It's helped me relate better to my daughter, with a calmer, more open approach. It's allowed me to see problems from another angle. It's also had a huge impact on professional relationships: today I go into every meeting starting from vision and mission. And I can assure you, it changes everything, right from the first meeting.
Discussion within the Community has a value that's hard to explain unless you experience it. Friends encourage you, tell you "well done" or "come on, it's nothing". Here it's different. If you say you've lost a client, someone tells you: "You went wrong here." It's direct, concrete, but always constructive. Real advice, based on the experience of people fighting the same battles every day as you.
That's how it went with an important project in Roddino too, with a heating engineer who kept changing his mind. Three hours of travel every time, a new drawing every time. I talked about it in Community. A colleague told me: "You're getting this wrong. You need to make him understand that you're MC Energy and that's the right proposal." I followed that advice. The project got unblocked straight away. If I hadn't had that discussion, I'd have lost even more time. That's when you understand how much a word from someone who sees you from the outside, but with real clarity, can truly be worth.
The Community has also taught me that you can always raise the bar. At first you come in with one goal, but then you see you can go further. You dream bigger, but with less fear. Because around you there are people who've already made certain choices, who've already taken certain risks. And that gives you strength.
The Mindset journey was one of the most moving moments. Revisiting moments from the past, recognising your emotions, laying yourself bare in front of people you don't know inside out... it isn't easy. But it's profound. Because that's where everything starts: from who you are, what drives you, where you want to go.
Telling my story today has made me relive every meeting, every step. Every session has been a step of growth. And if I could give one piece of advice to anyone reading this: try it at least once. Give yourself four hours to take part in a Community session. Worst case, you'll have had a different kind of experience. But if even just one sentence sparks something in you... it could truly be a turning point.
