The story of Cesare Pallo - Financial consultant | Banca Generali

I joined Private because I already knew some people who were part of it. Talking to them, I immediately sensed something different: not surface-level enthusiasm, but genuine satisfaction. When this experience was proposed to me, I accepted without much hesitation.

I'm from Saluzzo, and choosing to go to Turin means travelling further. On the face of it, it's not a very rational choice, especially when you could stay in your own area. In reality, it was precisely that distance that convinced me. Stepping outside my usual context allowed me to broaden my horizons and meet people I would never have encountered by staying put. Joining a group that was still being built made the experience even more interesting: I didn't know many of the people, and that turned every meeting into a discovery.

I work as a financial consultant and I handle wealth management. In my sector, dialogue between colleagues already exists, but here I found something different. The greatest value comes from talking with professionals and entrepreneurs whose work is far removed from mine. It's often from outside perspectives that the most useful insights come — the ones that help you see aspects of your own work that, on your own, you'd take for granted.

Every meeting in the community leaves me with something. Not always an answer — sometimes a new question, other times a simple observation that opens up a different point of view. What really makes the difference is the sheer variety of feedback: listening to several people, with different experiences and sensibilities, creates a level of dialogue that's hard to achieve on your own.

One of the pieces of feedback that struck me most concerned my professional story. My business began in the 1980s with my father. We worked together and, when he retired, my sister took over. It's a family business. I've always talked about this quite naturally, without fully realising how distinctive it was. Thanks to the dialogue, I understood that for clients it represents important value: we work with families and, in a sense, we're a family for families. Today this element has become a conscious part of our mission and the way we present ourselves.

Private is also a place where I find dynamics very similar to those of my everyday work. Trust is at the foundation of everything. Without trust, there's no relationship, neither with clients nor within a community. Here there's no control, but respect for shared rules and implicit agreements that make genuine dialogue possible.

Another aspect I consider central is the attention paid to listening. Being present doesn't automatically mean listening. Active listening is a skill that needs training, and this journey helps me do that with greater awareness. I experience it like a gym: here I train, then every day I go out onto the field in my work.

The work on monthly goals is also part of this training. Writing them down, declaring them and coming back to check on them means taking on responsibility. Not so much towards others as towards yourself. Even when a goal isn't reached, the dialogue helps you understand what happened and turn an obstacle into a fresh starting point.

The meetings aren't moments of relaxation, but of focus. They're spaces where the phone switches off and attention switches back on. I see them as recharging moments: I stop, I put things in order, and I set off again with greater clarity. It's a benefit that extends not only to me, but also to the people I work with.

I've been in Private for just a few months, but I've understood that change doesn't necessarily take years. Sometimes a single meeting is enough, a month, a small goal pursued with consistency. What makes the difference is how willing you are to put yourself on the line.

For me, Private isn't a course that ends. It's a journey that continues over time, for as long as you choose to stay. A place of training, discussion and constant growth. And every time I go a little further, I know I'm finding more value.
